Mom Prom March 24th, 2012

"Starry Nights Over the Hill"
The Moms celebrated Punks 14th consecutive 26th Birthday (AKA 40) by having a PROM!!! This page is dedicated to that project!
Do you remember your prom? No? Well let us refresh your memory as you watch the Momadonnas create a 80's theme inspired Prom!  

What to do? 
As with any prom first priority was choosing a prom committee (who coincidentally enough were the Momadonnas themselves). This committee gathered together to hang out, watch Prom movies, play on the internet, and to make important decisions such as:
  • The PromTheme: Starry Nights Over the Hill.
  • The Prom Colors: Blue & Silver.
  • The band: Punk's Accessory's ipod.
  • What to eat: All the 80's movies had snacks so we did too!
  • Decorating: mostly we surfed the web and dreamed of what to buy if we didn't have a budget.
  • Where to have it: a warehouse - that's where they did it in Footloose!
Well after watching lots of John Hughes movies we expected our prom to be the same minus Molly Ringwald... ok ok maybe not exactly the same but what we did know is there would be:  dancing, snacks, tables (to rest our tired dancing feet), birthday cake, dancing, prom style photos, 80's music, dancing, a disco-ball, the happy birthday song, and did I mention dancing? 

Dresses

What would Prom be without BIG dresses? So although we told everyone the dress code was optional (or as Punk said "clothing is optional" which could have lead to some embarrassing moments so her response had to be edited), the Momadonnas still went out and rented the most amazing prom dresses they could find. This by itself was an adventure as the moms found a small local business renting dresses and went to the owners house to try on dresses in her basement weight room. We can safely say that everything degraded from there, with moms rushing around putting on dresses left and right. At one point our dear Ringleader looked up and said "The naughtier the better" and we'll leave it at that, but the girls had a great time!

Prom Queen
Every Prom has to have a queen and our Prom was no exception. We asked everyone to please vote for their Prom Queen and when the time came our designated representative careful tallied the votes resulted in a surprising victory for Punk. Well maybe surprising is not the best way to describe her win... she did design the ballot herself....

Decorating
